A university professor challenged his students with this question. “Did God create all that exists?“
A student bravely replied:
- Yes, He did!
The teacher said:
- So God created everything?
- Yes, sir, replied the student.
The teacher replied:
- If God created everything, then he also created evil, since evil exists. And according to the principle of our work which defines who we are, then God is bad!
The student had remained silent in the face of such a response. The teacher was quite happy with himself and bragged to the students that he had once again proven faith to be a myth.
Another student raised his hand and said:
- May I ask you a question, Professor?
- Of course, answered the professor.
The student replied:
- Professor, does the cold exist?
- What kind of question is that? Of course there is. You’ve never been cold ? Replied the professor.
The young man replied:
- In fact, sir, there is no cold. According to the law of physics, what we think of as cold is actually the absence of heat. Any individual or any object possesses or transmits energy. Heat is produced by a body or by a material that transmits energy. Absolute zero (-460 ° F) is the total absence of heat; all matter becomes inert and unable to react at this temperature. Cold does not exist. We created this word to describe how we feel if we have no heat.
The student continued:
- Professor, does darkness exist?
The professor replied:
- Of course it exists!
The student replied:
- You are wrong again sir, there is no darkness either. Darkness is in reality the absence of light. We can study the Light, but not the darkness. In fact, we can use Newton’s prism to fragment white light into multiple colors and study the various wavelengths of each color. You can not measure the darkness. A single ray of light can burst into a world of darkness and illuminate it. How do you know how much space the dark occupies? You measure the quantity of light present. Is not it true ? Darkness is a term used by humans to describe what happens when there is no light.
Finally, the young man asked the professor:
- Sir,
Now uncertain, the professor replied:
- Of course like I said before. We see it every day. It is in everyday examples of man’s inhumanity to man. It is in the multitude of crimes and violence all over the world. These demonstrations are nothing but evil!
The student replied:
- Evil does not exist sir, or at least it does not exist on its own. Evil is simply the absence of God in oneself. It is like darkness and cold, a word that man created to describe the absence of God in oneself. God did not create evil. Evil is not like faith, or love that exists just like light and heat. Evil is the result of what happens when man does not have the love of God in his heart. He is like the cold that comes when there is no heat or the darkness that comes when there is no light.
The professor sat down. The young man’s name?
