without anyone ever noticing
It all happened in a dry valley, hollowed out between two arid mountains. Every day, people passed by to get from one town to another. Nothing grew there but weeds that lasted “what hard rose, for a day”.
But one day, precisely a small green shoot made its way through it, which no one noticed. All passed without seeing. The little shoot grew so well that it became a light, wind-blown plant. Then a palot shrub, unpretentious. And, much later, a tall, slender tree that we had always believed there, in passing, without noticing.
Thirty years later, a traveler returned from a long trip, and reached his hometown. But what was his surprise, along the way! “Where did this tree come from?” he asked passers-by. “Who transplanted this tree from elsewhere in here? How did we get him to appear like that? ” No one understood. They said to him: “But this tree, sir, it has always been there!”
The Holy Book tells us that one day “Jesus, exulting for joy under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit”, said to his disciples:
Blessed are the eyes that have seen what you see!
For I tell you: Many prophets
and kings wanted to see what you see,
and they did not see it, to
hear what you hear,
and they did not hear it ”
